Dear Gina,
One of the things that will happen to you, if it has not already is that once you start being successful you will be criticized for it. Once you start doing well with your commercial brokerage biz and it becomes obvious to those around you that you are, well, you will be criticized for it.
By whom?
By those that are
1. Jealous of what you are doing and/or accomplishing and what they are not and
2. By those that have never invested into a property before but think they know everything about commercial investment real estate.
3. By those that see you as a target to get out some of their own weaknesses...you have a target on your back.
Hate to tell you. Once you become good at this AND continue to be good at it you will get this kind of criticism EVEN MORE! Many times from those closest to you.. Many times from those that are not.
For example. I will get another broker or investor from time to time that does not like me and complains about me and my marketing. Wanting to "put me in my place". Well, you would think you would have more constructive things to do but of course these kind of ilk do not. And therein lies the lesson.
These kind of folks, the ones that will come down on you do NOT have lives or better things to do. So, you get their efforts. Also, it is the investors and owners that have the "Bring It On" attitude regarding this kind of stuff that are the real winners. They are the ones that get it.
So...
Always keep this in the back of your mind as you progress through your business life and do not let it distract you from your goals. Take them on and keep charging forward..
